Rolo Pretzel Turkeys for a Sweet Thanksgiving Treat

These are the CUTEST Thanksgiving treat my middle is sharing for her “Cute Finger Foods Series.”

Yes! These Rolo Pretzel Turkeys that are almost too adorable to eat (almost!).

What I love most about these Rolo Pretzel Turkeys is how they perfectly combine that sweet-salty flavor combo that’s impossible to resist.

These are perfect to bring to a class party, Thanksgiving, Friendsgiving and when you want something festive but don’t have time for complicated baking.

So grab your kiddos and a few simple ingredients, and let’s make some memories (and adorable turkey treats) together!

These R treats might just steal the show from the actual Thanksgiving turkey!

What You Need to Make Rolo Pretzel Turkeys

  • 24 mini pretzel twists – these are the base of your turkey and hold everything together
  • 24 Rolos, unwrapped – these are the turkey “body” and who doesn’t love caramel and chocolate?
  • 72 candy corn pieces – these make the cutest little turkey feathers sticking up in the back
  • 48 candy eyeballs – because every turkey needs eyes!
  • Orange and yellow mini M&Ms – these make perfect little beaks and my kids always steal a handful while we’re making these
  • Red decorative icing – for the turkey wattle (that red thing that hangs down) and it comes in those tubes so its super easy to use

How to Assemble These Cute Rolo Pretzel Turkeys

Step 1: Preheat Oven + Line Trays

Heat that oven to 275°F. Line two baking sheets with parchment paper (not foil, learned that mistake when everything stuck last year).

Step 2: Turn Pretzels Upside Down

Flip those mini pretzel twists upside down on your trays. When my youngest helps, she calls this “putting the pretzels to bed” which is pretty cute. I usually do about 8-10 at a time so the chocolate doesn’t harden before we can decorate.

Step 3: Place Rolos

Place one unwrapped Rolo on each pretzel near the bottom part. This is where my daughter shines because she’s so careful with placement.

Step 4: Time to Bake

Pop the trays in the oven for just 1 minute!

Set a timer because I got distracted helping with homework once and ended up with chocolate puddles. You want them just soft enough to stick the candy in but not melty.

Step 5: Attach Candy Corn

Working QUICK (seriously this is where it gets chaotic) stick 3 candy corn pieces into the back of each Rolo for the turkey feathers.

Step 6: Add Candy Eyes

Press two candy eyeballs onto each Rolo.

My oldest daughter who normally doesn’t participate in “little kid stuff” actually helped with this part last time and got really into making some of them look cross-eyed which made everyone laugh.

Step 7: Add the M&Ms

Grab an orange or yellow M&M and push it into the chocolate under the eyes for the beak.

Step 8: Add the Red Icing

Squeeze a tiny bit of red icing beside the beak for the wattle thingy (that red dangly part).

Step 9: Let Them Rest

Let these guys sit for about 20 minutes or until firm. If you’re impatient like me and the kids are asking “are they ready yet” every 30 seconds you can stick them in the fridge for like 5 minutes.

These are perfect for class parties or just a fun activity when the girls have friends over or even for a Thanksgiving classroom treat.

Way easier than actual baking and the kids think I’m super mom for about 5 minutes which is always nice!

Cute Thanksgiving Treat for Kids

I hope you try this out for your kids or for a fall class treat!

My kids had a blast making these.
