20 Easy Halloween Desserts (for Parties, School and Snack Time)

So my youngest has a little Halloween party coming up, and she’s way too excited about it.

I told her we’d make some treats to take, and then immediately had to throw my favorites together in a list.

I’m still not sure what I’m going to make, but I know these Halloween desserts are super easy and kid-approved!

They’re perfect for parties, school, or just snack time when you want something a little spooky but delicious.

Check out my absolute faves:

1. Rice Krispie Pumpkins

Melt some butter in a big pot, toss in mini marshmallows, and stir till it’s all gooey and smooth.

Add orange food coloring and don’t be shy! It fades a bit when mixed.

Stir in Rice Krispies and coat everything before it sets.

Use buttered hands to shape them into little pumpkins.

I like to stick a little green candy on the top for a stem, but you can also use a piece of black licorice.

Then draw on a face using black icing and you’re done!

2. Rice Krispie Brains

These are super easy to make and turn out looking really cool.

Start with the same base as the pumpkins (melt butter, marshmallows, and stir in Rice Krispies) but use red food coloring.

Scoop out handfuls and squish them into an oval “brain” shape.

If you want to give it a real brain look, use a knife and press a seam down the middle.

To get extra creepy, drizzle them with red candy melts for a veiny look.

3. Halloween Crack

Line a baking sheet with foil and cover it with saltine crackers.

Melt butter and brown sugar together till bubbly, pour it over the crackers, and bake for about 5 minutes till it’s caramelized.

Take it out, sprinkle with Halloween M&Ms, chocolate chips, or candy eyes before it sets.

Pop it in the fridge to harden, then break it apart into jagged, snack-sized pieces.

You might want to double the batch because it disappears so fast.

4. Bloody Popcorn

Pop a big bowl of plain popcorn and spread it out on parchment.

Melt white chocolate and drizzle it all over.

Before it sets, drizzle red food gel or red corn syrup across like fake blood.

Mix it with candy eyeballs or red M&Ms for extra drama!

5. Ghostie Popcorn Balls

Melt butter and mini marshmallows in a pot (same as Rice Krispies, just no cereal this time).

Pour the melted mix over popped popcorn and stir till coated.

Butter your hands and roll into balls before it cools.

Stick on candy eyes or use black icing for faces.

Wrap each in plastic wrap if they’re heading to school or a party.

6. Candied Apple Slices

Slice apples into thick wedges, pat them dry so the coating sticks and shove a skewer into each one.

Melt caramel candies with a splash of cream until smooth, then drizzle each slice and set them on wax paper.

You can then top them with walnuts, mini chocolate chips, crushed pretzels, or mini M&Ms before they set.

You get the yumminess of a candied apple with about half the work!

7. Boo-Berry Hand Pies

These are super cute!

Unroll store-bought pie crusts and cut out ghost shapes.

Spoon blueberry filling into the center, top with another crust piece, and press the edges with a fork.

Poke two tiny eye holes and a mouth, then brush with egg wash.

Bake until golden, then dust with powdered sugar.

8. Nutella Mummy Hand Pies

These are delicious and addictive!

Cut rectangles of pie crust, spread Nutella in the center, and leave the edges clean.

Slice thin “bandages” from another sheet of dough and layer them over top in a crisscross pattern.

Bake until they’re golden and flaky, then add little candy eyes.

9. Monster Hand Pies

Unroll store-bought pie crusts and spoon cherry or strawberry pie filling in the center (the “blood”).

Fold them and press the edges with a fork so the filling doesn’t leak too much while baking.

Brush with a little egg wash then bake.

Once they’ve cooled a bit, pop on some candy eyes and you’re good to go!

10. Mummy Brownies

Bake a batch of your favorite brownies (boxed mix totally fine) and let them cool.

Cut into rectangles, then drizzle white icing back and forth to make mummy “wraps.”

Add two candy eyes while it’s still tacky.

Once they set, they’re the perfect mix of creepy and sweet.

11. Cauldron Brownie Bites

Bake mini brownie bites in a muffin tin and let them cool.

Scoop a small dent in the middle and fill it with green frosting or melted candy.

Stick a pretzel stick or mini spoon inside like a witch’s stirring stick.

You can sprinkle them with green sugar or tiny candy bubbles on top.

12. Eyeball Brownies

Use a boxed brownie mix and bake as usual, then cut into squares once cooled.

Frost the tops with white icing and add a gummy or chocolate eyeball in the center.

Use red gel icing to make squiggly “veins” around the edges.

13. Spiderweb Brownies

Bake your favourite brownies and let them cool completely before decorating (learned that the messy way).

Melt a handful of white chocolate chips or grab some vanilla icing and spoon it into a zip bag.

Snip the tiniest corner and pipe a spider web on top.

Toss on a plastic spider or two if the kids won’t freak out.

14. Graveyard Pudding Cups

Spoon some crushed Oreos into a little plastic cup then top with butterscotch pudding.

Stick in some Milano cookie “tombstones” and pipe RIP using black icing.

I like to add a bit of fluffy icing to the top, but you can add some green for grass and some gummy worms.

Perfect for class parties since they’re easy to hand out and not messy.

15. Dirt and Worms Cupcakes

Start with chocolate cupcakes and frost them with chocolate icing.

Roll the tops in crushed Oreos for dirt.

Stick in a few gummy worms so they look like they’re crawling out.

My youngest says it’s her “favorite gross treat ever.”

16. Vampire Bite Cupcakes

Bake chocolate cupcakes and frost them with white icing.

Use a straw or toothpick to poke two little holes near the top, then drip red gel icing down like blood.

I used to overfill the “bite marks,” but now I’ve learned less gel looks more realistic (and less sticky).

17. Ghost S’mores Cupcakes

Top chocolate cupcakes with marshmallow frosting or melted marshmallow fluff.

Pop on a little marshmallow ghost and that’s it!

You can crumble some graham crackers over the frosting for that s’mores vibe.

18. Oreo Spider Cupcakes

Frost cooled cupcakes with some icing, then press an Oreo in the center for the spider body.

Stick four pieces of black string candy on each side for legs and add candy eyes.

Drizzle a bit of black icing for extra “web” detail if you want.

These are so simple but always the most talked-about treat on the table.

19. Monster Cookie Sandwiches

Bake big, soft sugar cookies and let them cool.

Tint buttercream frosting green or purple and spread between two cookies.

Stick candy eyes all over the sides before it sets.

20. Halloween Oreo Balls

Crush a full sleeve of Oreos in a food processor and mix with softened cream cheese until smooth.

Roll into balls, chill, then dip in melted orange or purple candy melts.

Add candy eyes or sprinkles before they set.

These are messy to make but so good it’s worth it!

The Spooky Sugar Rush Finale

By the time I finished making all these treats, the kitchen looked like a sugar-covered crime scene…but the kids were thrilled, so that’s what matters.

Halloween desserts are fun, messy, and a little spooky!

So grab the food coloring, cue up some cheesy music, and let the kids “help.”

You’ll end up with sticky counters, a few lopsided ghosts, and some of the tastiest memories.
