Easy Christmas Crack – Saltine Cracker Toffee Candy

Christmas crack is addictive and super easy to make. With just five ingredients, this treat is a hit from parties to bake sales and gifts!

I make this every single Christmas because it’s so easy.

I always whip some up for teachers and neighbors because it’s quick, cheap, and no one complains about sweets for Christmas.

If you have a party coming up or yet another bake sale for your kid’s school, you’re going to thank me for this recipe.

All you need is crackers, butter, sugar and chocolate and you’re all set.

It’s tastes amazing and only takes about 10 minutes to make.

Perfect for when December feels like pure chaos, right?

What You Need to Make Christmas Crack

If you’ve never made this before, it’s seriously one of the easiest Christmas treats ever.

You get that salty crunch from the crackers, a rich buttery toffee layer, and melted chocolate on top.

Here’s what you need:

  • Saltine crackers – the salty crunch that makes it totally addictive
  • Butter – gives you that rich, golden toffee flavor
  • Brown sugar – melts with the butter to make a caramel-like syrup
  • Chocolate chips – smooth, melty, and the best part honestly
  • Pecans or sprinkles – totally optional, but they make it look festive

How to Make Christmas Crack

1. Prep the Pan

Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment and lay out your saltine crackers in a single layer.

Try not to overlap them or you’ll end up with uneven pieces later.

f you’ve got a rimmed pan, use it. It keeps the toffee from bubbling over.

2. Make the Toffee

Melt the butter and brown sugar together in a saucepan, stirring until it starts to bubble.

Let it boil for about three minutes so it thickens up just a bit.

Keep stirring so it doesn’t burn (trust me, it can happen fast!).

3. Pour and Bake

Quickly pour that hot toffee over your crackers and spread it out so everything’s covered.

Pop the pan in the oven for five minutes until it’s all bubbly and smells amazing.

If it starts to darken too much, take it out. It’ll keep cooking a little after.

4. Add the Chocolate

Sprinkle the chocolate chips right over the hot toffee and wait about a minute for them to melt.

Then spread it around with a spatula until it’s smooth and glossy.

Use whatever chocolate you love…semi-sweet, dark, or even white works.

5. Cool and Break

Once it’s covered, throw on your pecans or sprinkles if you want and let it cool completely.

You can speed it up in the fridge if you’re impatient (I usually am).

When it’s hard, just break it into pieces and try not to eat half of it before storing.

Sweet, Simple, and So Addictive

That’s it! You’ve got a whole pan of sweet, salty, crunchy Christmas crack ready to go.

It’s one of those desserts that looks fancy but takes barely any effort, which is my kind of recipe.

Just store it in a sealed container so it stays crisp and delicious all week.
